found food is a an ongoing project that had accidental beginnings. once I started seeing discarded food on the street, I couldn’t stop seeing it. it was everywhere. I’m fascinated by it because it represents so much: the ways that we have so much abundance that we can afford to throw it away without thinking about it. or the ways that so many of us are simultaneously overfed and undernourished. some of the objects are totally innocent and some are quite perplexing. I’ve had one rule while working on this project, since I’m shooting everything with my phone, I’m not allowed to do any retouching that couldn’t be done with a mobile version of Photoshop–no masking, no compositing, no filters. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
